Slayers take series in 7 games
ROHAN - After going 0-3 against the Slayers in the series, Rohan brought it back to their home field for a Game 7 showdown in the Fellowship Series. Game 1 saw Kashi Darkleaf and Andrack Antslammer hook up in a 1-0 pitchers duel. The lone run for Minas Morgul came in the 3rd off a Firbal the Nasty homerun. In Game 2, Bagdreg the Hated outlasted Drogo Loamsdown, as both pitchers demonstrated little prowess. With the Slayers leading 10-3 in the 6th, Rohan made it interesting with a 6-run rally, including a 2-run double by Ciurk Badgerpoker, but Minas Morgul went on to win it, 13-9. In Game 3, Minas Morgul scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th to win it 5-3 and take a 3-0 series lead.
Rohan came back in Game 4 with a 7-3 victory for Mathilda the Sling. Krom Duhm-Krom was the hero of Game 5 with a pinch homer in the 9th to win the game, 4-3. And Eucalypta the Pink defeated Bagdreg the Hated in Game 6, 6-3, to force a Game 7 in Rohan.
Game 7 was all up to Hagush Eartrembler, who as recently as September 2 was residing in the Slayer bullpen. He pitched a brilliant 7 innings, allowing 6 hits and no runs, striking out 7 and walking 1. Niara Smoothflower and Nark Steelshaper finished off the game for the 6-0 victory.
