Dagorlad wins 1st Mordor Title
MINAS MORGUL - For the first time since 2004, the Dagorlad Disaster appeared in the Mordor Two Towers conference finals. And for the first time ever, they were able to declare victory, defeating the defending Mordor champs, Minas Morgul, in 7 games.
Game 1 was a 12-inning affair that saw Borulf Diamondlegs stroke a game winning homer in the top of the 12th to win it for the Disaster, 4-3. Game 2 went 10 innings, with Dagorlad scoring 4 in the 10th off a series of walks by the Slayers' knuckleballing closer, Ishanna Seladriel.
In Game 3, the Slayers came back, winning the game 5-2 with the help of Praggek Halflinglover's 2-run homer in the 8th. And Minas Morgul came through with late inning heroics in Game 4, scoring 4 runs, including a 3-run bomb by Halflinglover in the 9th. The Slayers won Game 5 in similar fashion, scoring 3 runs in the 8th with consecutive RBI singles by Tanta Chubb, Halflinglover and Minto Foxburr.
When the series moved back to Blackfield Park in Minas Morgul, Dagorlad claimed victory in Game 6, 7-2, pushing the series to a 7th game showdown. And finally, Matthew Reade pitched a superb game for Dagorlad to take the championship with a 6-2 win.
