Dagorlad are 2012 SGCBL Champs!

OLD FOREST - The Dagorlad Disaster defeated the Old Forest Merry Fellows in 6 games to take home their first ever Return of the King trophy. They did it with timely hitting, including two 9th inning wins.

In Game 1, Parin Saphirecryer got the better of Old Forest's Frodo Chubb in a pitcher's duel at Shire Greens Stadium. Chubb only allowed 2 runs in 7.2 innings, but Saphirecryer gave up just 1. The final score was 4-1. Game 2 saw Old Forest bouncing back with a 10-1 drubbing of the Disaster team. The Merry Fellows scored 6 runs in the bottom of the 1st, including a 3-run HR by shortstop "Eye-gor" Elrithor.

With the score tied at 4 apiece in the bottom of the 9th in Game 3, Borulf Diamondlegs pinch hit for Kosil Mithrilslinger and launched a 375 foot game-winning homer to deep right field. In Game 4, Old Forest evened things up again with a strong performance by starter Rulina Veslay and a 2-run HR by Sifur Silvermaster.

Isembard Ploughman supplied the magic for Dagorlad in Game 5. With the score tied 3-3 in the bottom of the 9th, he singled home Basil Landa from third with the winning run. Finally, in Game 6, the Disaster bats opened up, scoring 5 runs in the 1st and 3 in the 9th. Bill Sauers got a 3-run HR in the 1st, and the team from Dagorlad won their first SGCBL championship!
