2012 Aragorn MVP
MIDDLE EARTH - The winners of the 2012 Aragorn Most Valuable Player awards for the Shire and Mordor Conferences have been determined by ballot of the owners.
In the Mordor Conference, Minas Morgul's Firbal the Nasty becomes the heir apparent to the mantle of fellow Slayer, Isilborn Imrilron. Whle not named first on as many ballots as the second place finisher, Dagorlad's Isembard Ploughman, he garnered more points and won an easy victory. This is the first MVP award for Firbal, who also won this season's Sam Gamgee Batter award, hitting .302 with 40 HR and 122 RBI. Besides Ploughman, the only other player to receive a first place vote was Misty Mountain pitcher, Gwomer Grailas.
The Shire Conference race was a lot closer, with several players within a few points of the leader. In the end, Mirkwood's Hallalonn "Bring It" Brilhirion won his first MVP award. Brilhirion, who set a new Shire Conference record with his 1.98 ERA and was narrowly beaten in the race for the Gandalf Pitcher award by Old Forest's Frodo Chubb, becomes the first pitcher ever to win an Aragon MVP award. Brilhirion went 23-7 this season. Also recieving first place votes were Minas Tirith's Balin Bloodspear, Bree's Gollilmer Fyrith, and Rivendell's Loopy Squishmasher. Mirkwood's Curt Ballscarer and Trik Rider of Carrock also featured prominently in the MVP race this season.
