"Blitz" Belebrindil becomes a Witch King
WEATHERTOP - When Arwildoc Belebrindil, 34, announced that he was through with the Cheese, where he had been an anchor for 10 seasons, it sent shockwaves through the Bree community. Even more startling, however, was his decision today not to sign with a team considered to be a top contender, but with one that has finished last in its division for 3 years in a row. Weathertop management found a way to lure the All-Star shortstop over to the Mordor Conference, and that way seems to have been money. Belebrindil signed a 3-year deal that pays him $12 million a year to play for the Witch Kings.
Belebrindil was the 2nd pick for Bree in the inaugural draft of 2003. Since then, he has gone to 5 All-Star Games and won a Legolas Fielder Award. His lifetime batting average is .272 with 264 HR and 1103 RBI. He is 2nd in career RBI and leads the league in doubles with 376 and triples with 115. A perennial speedster, he has stolen 506 bases, making him 6th on the career list for that category.
