Slayers look to young talent in draft

via Slayer Press
MINAS MORGUL - The Slayers have always been high on young prospects, but they went about a far down the age ladder as you can go for their 3rd overall draft pick via Rivendell. "Garin Tunnelly" is a very fine young closer who has about as much intangibles as you could hope for. High loyalty, some leaderskills, willing to compete and play on a struggling team (not that the Slayers are expected to struggle), and has a reputation for consistency. The name is in quotation marks because it is rumored that this is an assumed name of a Dryad player.

Like the other dryads that have entered the league, they hid their heritage and true names, feeling that they wouldn't get a chance without playing under assumed names and 'imaginitive' backgrounds. Since these things aren't really checked, no one thinks twice about it. No one probably even cares they are dryads (aside from the other dryads), but for some reason, they feel this as a neccessary step.

In any rate, dryad and fake name or no, "Tunnelly" is a 16 year old who is pretty well developed, given his age, and has big velocity, topping out at 96 MPH. This kid even plays excellent defense on the mound, although a bit error prone from trying to do too much. "Tunnelly's" prospects for impacting the team might be questionable as the Slayers have a bunch of relievers. Still, an exciting kid to have in the system.
