Titans Star Gàndir Cruises to Shire Conference Player of the Week Honors

23-year-old center fielder Phaiar Gàndir is the talk of the Shire Conference for putting on a torrid hitting display last week, practically carrying the Minas Tirith Titans by himself. He smacks the ball with a youthful zest, a verve that just bursts at the seams of his perfectly manicured uniform. Gàndir rapped out a sensational .400 batting average with 10 hits, 7 extra-base hits, and 11 runs batted in to win the SC Player of the Week crown.

So far this season, Gàndir has rung up a .230 average, played in 56 games, and collected 52 hits, including 11 doubles and 10 round-trippers. He has driven in 27 runs and scored 32 times. He has also picked up 18 walks, stolen 9 bases, and compiled a .290 OBP.
