Gàndir of Minas Tirith Gets Feather in His Cap: SC Player of the Week Honors

Phaiar Gàndir made quite a splash in the Shire Conference this past week. The Minas Tirith Titans center fielder drilled opposing pitchers for 10 hits--5 for extra bases--in 20 at-bats and rolled up a 1.665 OPS figure. Those strong numbers made him the logical candidate for SC Player of the Week honors.

Gàndir hasn't got it all figured out yet; he is still a developing prospect. Even so, he is putting up adequate numbers for a 23-year-old. Gàndir is hitting at a respectable .266 pace this year with 19 home runs and 53 RBI. He has rapped 21 doubles and posted an OBP of .335 while playing in 123 games.
