Minor League Playoff News

MIDDLE EARTH - With the playoff races heating up in the majors, the SGCBL minor leagues finished their campaigns this month and are in their playoffs.

AAA News
In the Elrond League, the Pleasant Vale Stallions of the Ravenhill organization won Division 1 by 1 game over Bree's Hoarwell Hookers who took the wild card. Mirkwood's Taur e-Ndaedelos Woods won Division 2 by 25 games, and Dunharrow's White Mountain Wizards won Division 3 by 3 games over Moria's Long Cleve Ages. In the Galadriel League, the Dale Crossbowmen (LT) won Division 1 by 10 games, the Osgiliath Captains (MT) took Division 2 by 3 games over the Angmar Assassins, and Grey Haven's Cirdan affiliate won Division 3 by 10 games. The Nurn Demons of the Slayers' organization took the wild card.

In Round 1 of the playoffs, Hoarwell defeated Taur e-Ndaedelos in a 3-0 sweep. Pleasant Vale beat White Mountain, 3-1, Dale defeated Cirdan, 3-1, and Nurn swept Osgiliath, 3-0.

Hoarwell is set to square off against Pleasant Vale in Round 2. Meanwhile, Nurn will take on Dale.

In the Balin League, Ravenhill's Highland colts won Division 1 by a single game over Mirkwood's Eryn Lasgalen Old Forests, but the Old Forests took the wild card spot. The Methedras Manglers (MM) finished 1 game ahead of both the Vinyamar Sirens (BUC) and the Withywindle Weirdos (BYW) in Division 2. And the Lhun Stars (GH) won Division 3 by 14 games. Meanwhile, in the Durin League, the Gorgoroth Ghosts (MIN) won Division 1 by 12 games, the Edoras Rough Riders (MT) won Division 2 by 3 games, and the Anorien Avalanche (LOT) won Division 3 by 16 games. The Eregion Eagles of Minas Ithil took the wild card.

Highland swept Methedras, 3-0, Lhun beat Eryn Lasgalen, 3-2, Anorien defeated Eregion, 3-2, and Edoras beat Gorgoroth, 3-2, in Round 1.

Anorien beat Edoras, 4-1, in Round 2, and Highland leads their series with Lhun, 3-2, in Round 2.

Single-A News
In single-A, the Bilbo League saw Ravenhill affiliate, Prairie Hill, cruise to a 25-game win in Division 1. Wilderland's Hithlum Stallions won Division 2 by 14 games, and Minas Morgul's Lithlad Lizards also finished 25 games up. The Falas Falcons, Minas Ithil's single-A squad, picked up the BL wild card berth. Meanwhile, over in the Frodo League, Dead Marshes' Langflood Lightning finished 18 games ahead of Southfarthing in Division 1. Belfalas of the Lothlorien organization and Mirkwood's Greenwood Greats both finished 25 games up. The Mithlond Stars (GH) took the FL wild card spot.

In Round 1, Prairie Hill swept Hithlum, 3-0, and Lithlad defeated Falas, 3-1, Balfalas swept Greenwood, 3-0, and Mithlond beat Langflood, 3-1.

Lithlad swept Prairie Hill, 4-0, and Mithlond defeated Belfalas, 4-1, in Round 2.

Currently, the Lithlad Lambas hold a 2-0 lead over Mithlond in the finals.
