Red-Hot Brickfoot of Carrock Snags Shire Conference Player of the Week Award

No single hit brought Durin Brickfoot Player of the Week honors--the Carrock Bears left fielder corralled the award with a consistent approach in every at bat.

"Hitting is all about discipline," said Brickfoot. "When you lose focus, start to lunge at the ball, listen to advice from brodcasters or in the newspaper--that's when your average starts to drop and you wind up fighting for playing time. You're most successful when you're drowning out all that noise and concentrating on the ball."

And concentrate he did! Brickfoot stroked 12 hits in 24 at bats. He produced 5 extra-base hits and pushed 8 runners home on his way to a lofty 1.478 OPS figure.

Brickfoot is currently swinging the bat at a .321 clip. He has gathered 170 hits, including 13 doubles and 12 home runs. He has also chipped in 75 RBI, 60 runs scored, 50 bases on balls, and a .378 OBP.
