Hammermaker headed for league record

DEAD MARSHES - Kobur Hammermaker is at .416 going into the final week of the seaon. He's hitting .444 for September and hit .579 last week. The league record for batting average is .403 by Curt Ballscarer in 2010, and the Mordor Conference record is .370 by Disil Axesmith of Numenor in 2009.

As team owner, Loki said, "Here's to Kobur Hammermaker, and to Grump for letting me have him!"

More about Hammermaker's season: on track to be about 3rd highest OBP for a season, at least 6th most hits in a season (15 away from record), top-10 in singles, moving up from 4th on career hits list to 3rd (trailing Mohair Catsquisher by a few and Isilborn Imrilron by a bunch), from 3rd to 2nd on career runs scored, from 4th to 2nd in career singles. Also, in 519 at-bats he has grounded into only 1 double play.
