Merry Fellows coax Elvywyn out of retirement

OLD FOREST - Myrtai Elvywyn, the power-hitting first baseman who retired at the start of the 2012 season, is coming back for one last swing of the bat. "Silk Sheets" says he isn't in it for the money, though the 36-year-old will be rewarded with an $8 million cash bonus, but he just wants to help one of his former teammates out.

Back in 2005, Merry Fellows GM, Kigush Eyeslobberer, was in his final years playing infield for Old Forest when Elvywyn came over from the Mordor Conference via a trade with Dunharrow. The two played together on the right side of the diamond for 2 seasons, and they became close friends. So, when starting first baseman, Cinquefoil Boartooth, was knocked out for the season with an injury, Eyeslobberer turned to Elvywyn for help.

"No offense to the youngsters, but with a playoff spot on the line," Kigush said, "there isn't anyone else I'd rather call on to pinch hit or play a good late-inning defense for me."
