2013 Aragorn MVP's announced
MIDDLE EARTH - The winners of the 2013 Aragorn Most Valuable Player awards for the Shire and Mordor Conferences have been determined by ballot of the owners.
In the Shire Conference, Sjors 'Truly' Cheeseslicer of Old Forest becomes the 2nd pitcher to win the award, narrowly defeating Moria's Gibur Rockrender and Glodunter Bromburg of Bywater. Cheeseslicer was the Gandalf Pitcher of the year, having his finest season on record, going 24-9 with a 2.06 ERA and 266 K's. He also tossed 5 shutouts and tied for the league lead with 12 complete games. Other players recieving 1st place votes included Bagdreg the Hated, Gollilmer Fyrith and Samwise Peatfingers.
The voting in the Mordor Conference was the closest thing to a tie as we've ever seen. Just one point separated the winner from the 2nd place finisher. Misty Mountain's Buffy 'the' Balrog Slayer becomes the first Hops player to win the award, narrowly defeating Kobur Hammermaker of Dead Marshes. Buffy hit .326 with 51 HR and 140 RBI and was named the Mordor Sam Gamgee Batter for 2013. Her HR and RBI totals led the league, as did her 225 hits. Hammermaker, who also had 225 hits, was just the 2nd player in league history to hit over .400. Misty Mountain pitcher, Sorrel Amblestar, was the only other player to receive a 1st place vote.
