Kobur Hammermaker Gets Hit Number 2000

DEAD MARSHES - The day belonged to Kobur Hammermaker of the Dead Marshes Uruk-hai as he became the latest player to reach the 2000-hit plateau. He did it in Dead Marshes's 10-3 win over Numenor on July 11.

"It's a moment I'll never forget," said Hammermaker after the game, "2000 hits is a lot. It puts you in a very select group. I never expected to be around long enough to reach a milestone like this."

He finished the day with 3 hits in 5 at-bats.

Hammermaker has a .307 career batting average and has hit a total of 143 home runs.
