Peatfingers Makes 300 HR Mark

BUCKLEBURY - The Bucklebury 5-4 victory over Weathertop on August 10 was highlighted by Samwise Peatfingers's 300th career home run. His teammates congratulated him at home plate after he circled the bases.

"I didn't see all of them out there," Peatfingers laughed, "until I rounded third base." He added sheepishly: "It was only a home run. It's not like I won us a Return of the King Series!"

In 4 at-bats the Fairies left fielder collected 1 hit in his historic game, scored 1 run and had 1 run batted in.

In 1193 career games Peatfingers has hit .279 with 1271 hits, 300 home runs, 896 RBIs and scored 707 runs.
