Hooray for Pender! Hammers 5 Hits!

DAGORLAD - August 19 was a good day all around. Dagorlad whipped Carrock 14-3 and Clarence Pender displayed a hot bat, enjoying an outstanding 5-hit day at Dagorlad Memorial Stadium.

"Some days, lady luck is on your side," he modestly told SION reporters after the game. His manager told the beat writers otherwise, "His hitting wasn't luck today. It's his solid approach to hitting. Clarence is focused, patient and he hits to all fields. The more solid at-bats you put together, the more success you're going to have, and vice versa."

The 26-year-old center fielder for the Disaster collected 5 hits in 6 at-bats to get his name in the record book.

C. Pender singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off H. Eartrembler in the 9th.

In 2014 Pender is hitting .295 with 128 hits, 6 home runs, 40 RBIs, 42 walks, .372 OBP and has scored 60 runs.
