Devils and Darkwings in trading frenzy

DUNHARROW - In an afternoon of rapid-fire negotiating, Dunharrow announced a pair of multi-player deals with Ravenhill today.

In the first trade, the Devils sent their leading hitter, Pruugor Hearteater, along with pitchers Nark Silverbinder and Rabur Axecutter to the Darkwings in exchange for Ravenhill closer, Katie Bell, and Drogo Loamsdown.

Hearteater, 34, hit a career high .329 for Dunharrow last season to lead the team in batting and raising the 10-year veteran's career average to .302. Meanwhile, Silverbinder, a 1st round pick for Old Forest in 2011, toiled in the bullpen, appearing in 42 games for the Devils and 15 for AAA White Mountain, where he collected 11 saves as closer. Axecutter, 24, has appeared in 83 major league games as a starter and reliever over the 4 years since he was drafted by Dunharrow and thrown into the big leagues at the age of 20. The word from many scouts is that he just needs more time to develop.

Bell, 30, only recently became the Darkwings closer, but she has racked up 51 saves in 2 years, appearing in the top 10 for saves each season. "Smokey" Loamsdown is a 10 year veteran of the league, being the 1st pick by the Merry Fellows in 2004. He has seen a lot of action, but other than his no-hitter in 2010 against Numenor, he has little to show for his original promise.

The second deal of the day sent All-Star outfielder, Elramli Elimir, to Ravenhill for James Biehl and Braddock the Fell.

Elimir, 31, hit .290 this season and was a key member of the Devils offense. He was selected to the Mordor Conference All-Star team, his 2nd appearance (the first being for Numenor in 2010). He also had a 27-game hitting streak this year, the longest streak in the last 2 seasons.

Biehl, 24, is a young outfield prospect who was Ravenhill's 3rd round pick in 2008 when they were in Rohan. Braddock the Fell, 30, is a light-hitting utility infielder acquired from Bree in May.
