Moria set to run for Dwarf Division Title
via Miners Press Service
MORIA - Moria will be championing the title this season with pretty much the same team. Veteran power hitter Githrarith (37) was the only one to be released, leaving the DH spot open to slugger Morag The Shriek, who was having trouble fielding a proper 3B. That position will now be in the hands of Brandewyn of Rohan, who spectacularly has developed into one of Moria's top talents with an overall rating almost equal to 2013 Sam Gamgee Batter Award winner SS Gibur Rockrender.
This week the managment also contracted slugger Bifur Thunderarrow, aiming to enhance the 1B position at the expense of veteran Haleth Bright Blade. Thunderarrow (28, two time All Star and winner of the Legolas at 1B in 2008) somehow got skipped during the FA signing, but his stats were good enough to convince the Queen and GM Sir Jools he'll be a valuable long-term addition to the team.
In addition to enhancing its defense in the field, Moria's owner and GM have taken measures to reduce the amount of homeruns given up by its pitching staff, which had the 2nd best BABIP in the league last season. So far the results in Spring Training seem satisfactory.
Pitching once again from Moria's bullpen is 38 year old MR Kimra Elralith. Despite age gnawing at her ratings, Kimra still produces a 101+ mph fastball that still can fool any batter. Her replacement Sarkla Erlil-Gambor is already up to the job. The 26 year old reliever keeps amazing the crowd and management with her composed pitching spells, and is looking at a permament spot in Moria's starting rotation in the nearby future.
Dig it, Miners are go.
