Githrarith Chosen #1 Player

In the twilight of his career, Shatai Githrarith recaptured some of the old magic last week and came away with the Shire Conference Player of the Week Award.

"I've been playing since I was a kid," Githrarith told reporters, "but you're never too old to feel the thrill of success."

Githrarith outpaced the rest of the league's hitters last week, reeling off 10 hits in 21 at-bats, 5 home runs and 7 RBIs to stake his claim to the award.

Githrarith is batting .290 with 9 home runs and 28 RBIs this season. He has walked 19 times, scored 22 runs and put up a .359 on-base percentage.
