Gwildur Booms 3 HRs Versus Archers!
OLD FOREST - Old Forest first baseman Imredoc Gwildur sensed he was going to have a good game at the plate, but he underestimated just a little bit. Prior to the game, Gwildur predicted he would hit a home run against the Lake Town Archers.
During batting practice he told his teammates, "I really got my swing down pat. I feel some thunder in the lumber. I'm gonna get me a home run in this game."
He was right. He did hit a home run -- three of them, in fact -- pacing the Merry Fellows over the Archers 10-4 on June 29.
"I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Gwildur told SION reporters after the game.
To go along with the homers, he collected 6 RBIs and scored 4 runs.
I. Gwildur hit a two-run home run off G. Forgedelver in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off G. Forgedelver in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off D. Ratclaw in the 6th and struck out in the 8th.
This season Gwildur has batted at a .257 clip in 44 games with 44 hits, 10 home runs, 31 RBIs, 17 walks, a .332 on-base percentage and 25 runs scored.
