All-time Steals Leader Calls It Quits

DAGORLAD - Marus *Alu, the league's career stolen base leader, has decided to hang up his running shoes. The shortstop for the Disaster informed his Dagorlad bosses of his decision late today, saying that despite his relative good health and ability, he needed to spend more time with his family. Disaster officials were reportedly furious at this decision, coming as it does on the night before Opening Day, but found that they could do little about it.

"We are scrambling, that's for sure," said a frazzled Denaigol Earchewer, manager of the team. "But we gotta play with whatever hand we get dealt, so I'm not crying in my mead."

*Alu finishes with 774 career steals, a .279 lifetime batting average, 129 HR, 699 RBI and 1801 Hits.
