Hall of Fame Inducts All-Time Saves Leader

Good relievers can often go unappreciated and unnoticed. That was not the case today when Dejath Belarà was inducted into the Tolkien Baseball Hall of Fame. He will go down in history as one of the more dominant relievers of his generation. Belarà was 39, when he retired from baseball.

Speaking at his induction, one of his managers observed, "A guy who throws what he intends to throw, that's the definition of a good pitcher. That's why Dejath was such a great pitcher."

In an illustrious career Belarà nailed down 309 saves, appeared in 646 games, fashioned a 53-47 won-loss record with a 3.38 ERA and had 675 strikeouts in 649.2 innings.

As for the rest of the players on the ballot, the most disappointed is Geadriel Gamialf. The long-time hurler for Mirkwood and Lake Town fell just 1 vote shy of induction, garnering 6 votes on the 9 ballots cast and finishing with 67% of the vote.

Dolok Bonemangler, Silas *Debuugger, Gwomer Grailas, and Thuralia Nilad each received 5 votes. Grimli Goramir, Imrohil Haleogast and Theo *Nering got 4 votes apiece. And the final qualifiers for next year's ballot, receiving 33% of the votes, were Fruron Elvand, Gandaudur Eowoldor, Gandogast Fadrier, Olorin *Orithil and Posco *Sackville.

The record holder for most HR in a season, Gamilas Eowil-Galad, has fallen off the ballot after his 2nd try for the Hall. He received just 2 votes, putting him at 22%, just shy of the minimum required.

Others who failed to make the cut were: Boran Armormasher, Rocco Dwarftosser, Tavalia Legariand, Meroman Legeolbo, Rafur Rockback, Wong Trollraper, Binus Anvilworker, Dogush Bonedragger, Fikak Daggerprodder, Gorema Gollailob and Bofur Stoneteeth.
