Slayers land Grudgesmelter

MINAS MORGUL - The Slayers are still ahead, but the race is a three team race and the team has been inconsistent for a .600 team. The Slayers have lost 8 of 10 and have all but given away that 5 game lead they had built up.

Grudgesmelter will arrive in Minas Morgul without a starting role in all likelihood. The team has Chubb at 2B and she is still playing strong with an .893 OPS. Shortstop would be an option, but Fernia has been solid since returning from her injury. Third base, of all places, could be an option, a surprise because Foxburr is usually an automatic, but this year he seems down.

What may happen is that Grudgesmelter will be a seriously good bat off the bench and will be a great player to give the starters some time off now and then. This may help the consistency as the stars don't have to play tired while not creating a huge dropoff as would be the case with Portaga and Woodenspear, who are average at best.
