Career Over for Andrack Hardbottle

The Mirkwood Marauders clubhouse was subdued last night after Andrack Hardbottle was seriously injured during the game. Hardbottle was taken to a local hospital for examination. This morning, doctors confirmed the preliminary diagnosis of a ruptured ulnar collateral ligament. They said Hardbottle will undergo surgery in the near future. This type of injury, they said, will require extensive rehabilitation. For all intents and purposes, his career in baseball is over.

It remains to be seen how Hardbottle's loss will affect the rest of the team. The Marauders owner, when reached for comment, said he planned to visit Hardbottle later today. "It is a sad day for us," he said, "We have lost a class individual. I hope that we can keep him in our organization as a coach or manager as soon as he recovers. Andrack still has a lot to contribute to our baseball team."
