Great Week for Mirkwood's Shortstop

Mirkwood Marauders shortstop Mablung *Véneanár walked away with the Shire Conference Player of the Week Award today after putting up some impressive numbers over the past seven days.

"The Marauders fans are really behind me right now," said the 24-year-old. "That helps. They give you the confidence to go out there and do better."

*Véneanár batted .385 (10-26) with 4 home runs and 6 RBIs this week on his way to the award.

*Véneanár is currently hitting at a .301 pace with 11 home runs and 27 RBIs.
