Slayers Collapse Worries GM and Fans
via Slayers Press
MINAS MORGUL - Everything is going wrong for the Slayers. From constant injuries to constant ineptitude, the Slayers find themselves in a position they haven't seen in a decade: Last place.
"I don't understand it. We go from advancing to the Two Towers to...this? With the same players? I don't understand this at all." K.L. commented.
This frustrations and lack of good play as lead to the entire team being up for trade. So far, there's been no takers and little interest.
"I guess even everyone else doesn't want these losers." K.L. spoke, "I guess I can't really blame them."
Ruano did hit his 300th career HR and is one of the four players doing well in the lineup. The other three being Foxburr, Chubb, and Firbal the Nasty. The problem is everyone else - just about all of them are far off from their usual levels.
The injuries have also contributed to the defensive problems, as shown in the team's .328 BABIP allowed, far, far higher than the team's usual .280 range.
And on top of it all, Moonblossom still has not been hitting batters and showing the aggression the team hoped for.
"I don't understand that either. Scouts say her hit batters rating is 80, and she has 1 hit batter...in May? That's crazy." K.L. spoke.
While some fans think the team will get hot and turn it around. Being just 6 games back makes that hope some comeback is possible. However, given how the team has played right now, there's no reason to expect any turnaround.
"Maybe when Silkpetal gets back and a couple of these other players get healthy from yet more 'nagging' injuries...maybe." K.L. commented.
