July's #1 Hurler Announced - Villegas Winner

Steven Villegas nailed down July's Mordor Conference Pitcher of the Month award today, adding pressure on Dagorlad to get a deal done before the 33-year-old becomes a free agent.

Villegas seems unfazed by the talk. "We get a deal done or we don't," he told reporters, "I'm not worrying about next year. Worrying about next year isn't what wins awards, you know?"

He fashioned a 4-1 record, reeled off 12 strikeouts, worked 39 innings and held batters to a .207 average for the month as he posted a 1.15 ERA.

This season Villegas has registered 12 wins and 4 losses in 21 starts with a 2.62 ERA.
