Devils Announce Underhill Will Retire

It's a somber day for Devils fans as Odovacar Underhill announced that he will retire at the end of the 2017 season. The Dunharrow shortstop attributed his retirement to his age and loss of skills.

"I'm not the type of player I want to be anymore," he said. "It's harder go out there and be competitive. I'm not at the end of my rope yet, but I've seen guys hang around too long. I'm not going to be one of them."

Underhill is hitting .275 lifetime with 1328 hits, 311 doubles, 95 triples, 103 home runs and 669 RBIs to date. He has scored 659 runs and stolen 290 bases.
