Football: Week 6

Did you know it’s football season? I just realized that! Wow. All it took was two stupid baseball playoff games to wake me up! *grumble, grumble*

Actually, I’m dreaming that the Sox are going to sweep in Fenway, then go back and take it to Game 7 in New York, when Johnny Pesky (being in uniform that day thanks to a special dispensation from the Yankees) comes to the plate to hit for Manny Ramirez (who was ejected along with 3/4 of the team during a 6th inning brawl) and pops a homer just over the leaping Hideki Matsui.

Sweet.

(But to prove I’m a true Sox fan, the dream continues with Pesky having a heart attack around second base, never making it home, nullifying the run.)

Anyway, here are the football picks from the 50-24 football hater:

Carolina at Philadelphia
Cincinnati at Cleveland
Green Bay at Detroit
Houston at Tennessee
Kansas City at Jacksonville
Miami at Buffalo
San Diego at Atlanta
Seattle at New England
San Francisco at N.Y. Jets
Washington at Chicago
Denver at Oakland
Pittsburgh at Dallas
Minnesota at New Orleans
Tampa Bay at St. Louis

We can all dream, can’t we?

I agree with your picks with the exceptions of San Chicago, Oakland, and Pittsburgh. The only way I’ll get to see the games is if the weather continues to be crappy so we can’t go apple picking. We’ll see. Have a great weekend!

    i still believe, darn it.

The only one I have a real problem with is the Jacksonville game. You really missed on that one, Solly.

And my brain must be getting really mushy, but I think Miami is gonna beat Buffalo this week. Yup, we’ll call that a long shot. (And for me to pick Miami is crazy to start with, my hating Miami being similar to hating the Yankees, though not nearly as extreme. The Lakers, too.)
