Impressive. Most impressive.

Just finished watching the original Star Wars again. I never thought anything could make it better, but after last night… wow. The tie-ins and the backstory (yeah, yeah, I’m sure they didn’t know the whole story they were acting out back then, shut up)… just knowing what we know… it’s even more awesome. (Heh. When the Death Star blew up Alderaan, I shouted “Nooooo! Jimmy Smits is down there!”)

And did Ewan McGregor nail Obi-Wan or what? I totally believe that Alec Guinness is an older version of the same guy.

Excuse me. Must watch Empire Strikes Back now.

How I envy you. I won’t be hitting the theater till next weekend. But I will revisit and catch up on the story. :o)

I so know the feeling, I had to stop off and buy the originals after seeing the new one yesterday (I know …I didn’t own them already!) We’re having a star wars weekend here at casa elf.

Yeah, it was fun. All the little bits were excellent, and yeah, Ewan McGregor was the best human onscreen. Yoda was the best actor, overall, though.

3.5 out of 5. Best of the prequels, but still only #3 all time of the six movies, with Empire and ANH ahead of it.

I watched “A New Hope” and “The Empire Strikes Back” again yesterday. Couldn’t quite bring myself to watch the teddy bears yesterday, so I watched “Team America: World Police” instead. But I will watch “Return of the Jedi” again this week.

I fully realize that I’m putting my own spin on things, but it just seems way more meaningful to watch Vader struggle with betraying the Emperor and saving Luke in the last movie when you know that it’s Anakin in there and that it mirrors his fall from grace when he allowed Mace go out the windu… er, window.
