Is it November 3rd yet?

Great. Some brilliant thinker decided to overlay the map of Florida counties and how they voted in 2000 with the paths of the hurricanes in GOD vs. BUSH.gif. They only forgot two things:

  1. Hurricanes don’t limit their destruction to the path of the eye. While they continue to clean up after Hurricane Frances, I’m sure the people of Volusia county will appreciate the fact that it could have been much worse if they had voted for George Bush. What a relief that must be.
  2. Those aren’t the actual paths for the storms. Charley didn’t touch the Keys. Frances came in at St. Lucie county (I think) and went out into the Gulf north of Tampa. Though Pensacola took a huge hit, the eye of Ivan came ashore in Alabama, not Florida.

The sad part is that no one will bother to look at the actual hurricane paths, much less check to see whether the bozo got the county voting records right. It will go into the blender of idiocy that is the American Presidential Campaign.™ And I will wind up having my eyes roll back into my head again and again until they get stuck, as people who believe everything they read get this in their e-mail and have to breathlessly share it with me.

My head hurts.

When you use that same rationele…AIDS must be a punishment from God, 9/11 was punishment from God, and Martha Stewart is a punishment from God.

Note: These are not my opinions…except that last one.

Yo, it’s a joke and a damn funny one. Just someone poking fun of the fundies who are always praying so the hurricanes miss them. Thanks for posting, I’m passing this baby on.

I’m sorry. Funny is not finding yet another reason to grit my teeth and explain to people what Snopes is for. THIS is funny. The other is just a head-pounding on the desk waiting to happen.

Or maybe I’m just having a bad day?

Sol, sometimes those smacks to the back of the head can help get your eyes unstuck.

If the bozo had done any real research on hurricane paths and areas of damage, he could cover the entire southeast, most of the Atlantic Coast, and of course everything in the Carribean.

I really get irritated with people who figure the best a Supreme Diety can do is worry about political races and sports teams.

  6. nefarious says:

While I disagree with the political slant and the complete lack of legitimate research it is pretty funny.

“Blender of Idiocy” I love that!

But Solly, if it’s on the internet it’s got to be true….

  8. Deb says:

Sol, you’re not having a bad day. I don’t find it amusing either. The ones who find it most amusing must not live in the paths of any of these hurricanes.

  9. DebWire says:

    God, Politics And Hurricanes

These don’t mix, people. I don’t care how much fun some of you with too much time on your hands try to amuse yourselves with such a notion.

As I’ve stated before, and again, some of you political nutcases really need to be in the path of the next…

  10. -=e=- says:

I dunno… while I echo your sentiments about this election (psst: Vote for Lesser Evil#1) being over yet. I think you are thinking too damn much.

Besides it has to be fake. That graphic insinuates that Bush won Florida.

    Broken wings…

You know… I’m kinda blessed here. In the years I’ve been online for a lot of years now. I’ve met some of the most remarkable, intelligent, talented and caring people ever. I’ve even emailed back and forth with the celebrity…
