June Referrer Madness

Thanks to this morning’s Dark Side of the Moon and Wizard of Oz memory, I thought I’d look to see if the same kind of spooky coincidence holds true for other things. Things like the monthly list of the Top 20 Sites From Which Nice People Came To Look At The Monkey In The Window™! And, amazingly enough, I found the connection.

There are (not counting repeated phrases) exactly the right number of lines in the song Brain Damage to assign one to each blogger and have the last two (very appropriate ones) left for me. The results are… scary. But I’ll let you draw your own conclusinos. Enjoy!

Note: If you don’t like the lyrics you’re paired up with, don’t blame me. Blame Roger Waters. Or Canada.
  1. Unix GalThe lunatic is on the grass. The lunatic is on the grass.
  2. Anything But OrdinaryRemembering games and daisy chains and laughs.
  3. Dandelion WineGot to keep the loonies on the path.
  4. Annessa.netThe lunatic is in the hall. The lunatics are in my hall.
  5. Busy Mom BlogThe paper holds their folded faces to the floor
  6. Zuly’s ZuAnd every day the paper boy brings more.

I think it’s marvelous! HaHaHa!

  2. GeekMan says:

But, but, but… There IS someone in my head! And it’s not me!

    It’s Bread! AAAAHHhhhh!

  3. Solonor says:

I told you it was scary!

  4. Brian Peace says:

Considering what has been going on in my life lately, it is strangely appropriate.

  5. theresa says:

I’m not sure if you’re trying to tell me it’s my job to keep loonies on a path, or that I’m a looney that needs to make sure I stay on the path. Either way, I made one hell of a comeback from not even being on the list last month! w00t!

  6. Scott says:

    Apropos.

And a great song, to boot.

Still, my favorite one by them is the title track of Wish You Were Here. That entire album is just . . . sad. Gilmour’s guitar on Shine On You Crazy Diamond at the beginning is really the saddest guitar lead ever recorded.

  7. Solonor says:

It’s really weird. The more I read them, there’s only maybe four that I can’t quite see a connection.

  8. natalie says:

This makes me twitchy. Extra twitchy, that is.

My dad used to tell me that the no one in my band was playing from the same page…I *finally* get what he was trying to say.

    Twitch.

ps – Referrer Madness? That’s totally class right there. Love the reference.

  9. Zuly says:

I’ve never even been on the list before, and now I’m Top Ten. Apparently, every day I just bring more. Nice!!

  10. Melissa says:

“Remembering games and daisy chains and laughs.”

I’m all for the games and laughs, but what the holy heck is a “daisy chain”?

    All fruityness aside(okay most fruityness aside)… I made #2! w00t! w00t! 😉

  11. Melissa says:

::makes a trip to Merriam Webster::

Okay. I should’ve guessed that “daisy chain” meant a chain of daisies, but I just assumed it had a more sinister definition, you know? ;P

  12. Les says:

Sweet! First time in the list and I managed to debut at number 10 making me one of the top 10. And I get a cool (and oddly appropriate) Pink Floyd reference to go along with it.

  13. Holy cow! First time on the list and I’m first?! Go me 😉

  14. Damaged

I made Solly’s Referrer Madness for June, to which he has paired up the Pink Floyd song “Brain Damage”. Having made it through 29 years without knowingly listening to a Pink Floyd song (much like I made it through 27 years having never realized “the so…

  15. Amytart says:

I want to play…I want to play…what is this all about? *I’m such a joiner*

  16. Dania says:

Aw man..didn’t make the cut this time..must go pimp Sollys blog again…

    BTW everyone blames Canada heh
