Links getting backlogged and Football: Week 4

Been crazy busy at work and on the home front (most roofers have a waiting list in the thousands at this point!). So, I have a little backlog of links to post this weekend. I’ve got a review of the movie Hero, a piece on another Forgotten Famous Person, a couple of silly news stories and a review of The Stupidest Angel. (I actually read a book. Don’t faint.)

In the meantime, here are my Week 4 football picks. I still have not gotten my buttocks handed to me by the pick gods. I’m now 34-12. Once more into the breach, dear friends!

Cincinnati at Pittsburgh
Indianapolis at Jacksonville
New England at Buffalo
N.Y. Giants at Green Bay
Oakland at Houston
Philadelphia at Chicago
Washington at Cleveland
Atlanta at Carolina
New Orleans at Arizona
Denver at Tampa Bay
N.Y. Jets at Miami
Tennessee at San Diego
St. Louis at San Francisco
Kansas City at Baltimore

    Beware these games, my friend…

Oakland is going to have to play Kerry Collins at QB, as Gannon is out. Collins is probably the best backup QB in the league, but still…

Tennessee wishes they had Kerry Collins as a backup. McNair may play, but I doubt it. And even if he does, even he can’t overcome that easily. (And he never ceases to amaze me, how he plays hurt. This one is too much.) Without him, Tennessee sucks.

I’d be scared about the Atlanta/Carolina tilt. Michael Vick is scary, indeed. Caronia’s defense is really good, so we will see.

And I dunno if I hope you’re right about the Indy/Jacksonville game. Is Jacksonville for real? NE plays them soon, I guess we shall see.

The rest looks good. Your position in the standings is safe. I think.
