Missed it by that much…

Not too sad about the Sox loss last night. They didn’t beat themselves. Tampa beat them.

They had their shots…especially the pop-up by Pedroia where he just missed a homer, and you can’t ask for much more than bases-loaded in the 8th with J.D. Drew at the plate (though I’d rather have seen him strike out honestly than with a stupid check swing). But they couldn’t cash in, and the Rays were just that good.

I will say that this is the first time since the trade that I actually missed Manny.

Well, you gotta admit Tampa Bay is much the better story than “Sox go for three in five years.”

    Miss Manny?!?!?!?!?

I cannot express how glad I am that he is OUTTA here! (Or there. Boston. Wherever.)

An absolutely selfish and ungrateful knucklehead. Yes, the best right-handed hitter of our generation, maybe ever. But c’mon. How do you know when he will “play” and when he will “be hurt”? The number of times that he jogged to first instead of running out hits like you’re supposed to… Could not be bothered to appear with the team at functions for any number of good causes, like sick kids (Jimmy Fund, anyone?) or Troops at Walter Reed Hospital, or any of several other examples. Had to go home to tend to a sick grandmother more times than I can remember. Yes, the Sox enabled him, but at least they finally realized that they couldn’t continue this foolishness any longer. How can they continue to preach the right things to the kids they have (Ellsbury, Pedroia, Masterson, Lowrie, among many others) and let that buffoon continue to make fools of them all?

Poor widdle Manny wasn’t happy with how he was going to get paid after beinf paid $168 MILLION dollars. Begone, foul right-handed-hitting-monster. LA can have you, and hopefully will. (I am praying that good sense is being retained by Brian Cashman, and that the Yanks spend all those megabucks on pitching, and not on Manny. THAT would be hard to stomach, 19 times a year.)

I do agree with you regarding Tampa winning the game last night. The better team won this time, and that’s OK. ‘Cuz those guys play the way you’re supposed to. Hard, and smart, all the time. Unlike a certain dreadlocked cretin we’ve been speaking of… Go Rays!
