My own sobbing had frightened the gulls.

Holy crap! See what lack of caffeine does to you? I nearly forgot one of the squeee-inducing highlights of going to see Dark Knight–the Watchmen trailer!

Sadly, it appeared that Whiny the Elder, the Mrs and I were the onlye ones in the theater who had a clue what it was. Must. Kill. Other. Humans. Now.

Dog carcass in alley this morning, tire thread on burst stomach. This city is afraid of me. I have seen its true face.

The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown.

The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout “Save us!”…

… and I’ll look down, and whisper “No.”

I saw the trailer too, and got the exact same feeling as you did… worst part was that my brother was sitting right next to me at the midnight showing, and he had no clue what was going on… I slapped him upside the head and told him to at the very least look it up on Wikipedia… I bumped into Whiny after the show, we both were impressed with the movie enough to forget about the trailers, but c’mon… who would go see The Dark Knight and come out talking about Watchmen? (Even you posted about the trailer after your Dark Knight post, or at the very least, that’s how your MT installation shows it)

Trailers are something you usually talk about after you yell out spoilers to anyone within earshot who has not yet seen the movie, and given the fact that no other shows were going on at that time, I could not ruin someone else’s movie experience, therefore I did not discuss the trailer, being a stickler to protocol as I am…

Not really, but, it was a damn good movie, and the trailer was more of a teaser than a trailer… The Cloverfield teaser showed more relative information about the movie than this trailer. Good none-the-less…

Tell Whiny I said Hi… and that he should reply to IM’s sent to him sometime…

I admit I had no clue, since I was never into comic books. But I had to figure out WHY THE F*** THE WTC TOWERS WERE IN THE TRAILER.

A bit of googling and wiki’ing and I’m all better now. Looks cool. Actually looks very cool.

As someone who thought he was into comics “back in the day”, I too had no idea about The Watchmen. And while I haven’t seen Batman yet (or Indy or Hulk or anything else, sigh) I did read a good article about the movie in Entertainment Weekly. So I’ll add The Watchmen to the list of movies that I want to see but haven’t. Dammit. 🙂

    It does sound cool.
