    Hopefully the law will stand.

    Every election, there are petition-people trying to “save” marriage in Maine, even before this law was signed. We had a non-discrimination law in the books in regards to gay/lesbian folks, and it was shot down by a peoples referendum a few years later. Thus my skepticism for “dear old Maine”…

    I am surprised it passed through the legislature and the governors office as easily as it did. Pleasantly surprised, mind you.

    Hoorah for Maine – despite the challenge, it’s a strong message to other less… open-minded states. *cough*Utah*cough*
