If a few months ago someone had told me that I’d be going over to Tampa this evening to see the Red Sox play and that we’d be looking up at the Devil Rays’ ass in the standings, I would have asked them for some of whatever they were smoking.

If somebody now told you they’d eliminated the word “Devil” from the team name and that was the cause of their improvement…
Well, maybe that second part is wrong, but I betcha there’s some folks saying so.
I gotta tell you, if the Red Sox can’t be in first place in the AL East, I’m tickled as all get out that the Rays are the team ahead of them.
Still, I’d rather it be the Sawx, but this is a pretty cool story.
