STG: The Brent Woodall Foundation

The Brent Woodall Foundation for Exceptional Children

Tracy Woodall lost her husband, Brent, in the attack on the World Trade Center in September 2001. Not long before that, they had discussed launching a foundation to help families of children with autism. The Woodall Foundation is this month’s highlighted charity for Strengthen the Good. Details on how you can help (either financially or as a volunteer) can be found here.

    I approve of the choice.

I have a little bit of first hand knowledge of autism. Or to be more specific, I know about Aspergers Syndrome, which is described as High Functioning Autism. (Though the comparison is debated by the experts, of course.) My youngest son, Andrew, has Aspergers Syndrome. It is quite a challenge. And it is far more prevelant than you would imagine. Especially for something you never heard of before….which I suspect is going to be the case for most people. Like my wife & I, before Andrew was born.

So I’m more sensitive to all things referring to autism. I checked out the Woodall Foundation site, and I think what that strong lady is doing is absolutley wonderful. She deserves your support. Strengthen The Good, indeed.
