The Adventures of Bobby Sock and Friends, Part 2

Brought to you today by the letter “B”: Birthday, Beer, BBQ, Beer, Bowling, Beer, Billiards and, um, Beer

After backing slowly away from the nuclear plant, our heroes found their motel and settled in for the night. The next morning we awoke to find that we weren’t in Florida anymore. We could tell because the temperature was actually below the melting point of lead, and the lack of humidity let us breathe without our water filtration masks.

We also found that they had a petting zoo. With goats.

Beware of goats!
No, she didn’t actually get bitten by a radioactive goat and gain nuclear goat powers. But it wasn’t for lack of opportunity. Or trying.

We set sail for Maine, crossing the border into the homeland around 10am. We knew we were back, because of the giant lobsters attacking the inhabitants…
Beware of lobstah!

And, of course, the health warnings…
Beware of barrel picking!

I must admit that it felt good to be back. We have decided that when we win the lottery and can afford to A) live in Florida in the winter and B) encase ourselves in a mobile anti-blackfly sphere we will move back.

We arrived at the home of Venita’s sister, Janet (aka, Snowgirl), and brother-in-law, Ed (aka, Ejen), around noon. They live in our first “B”–Brewer. How appropriate! For it was the birthday of my buddy, Bruce (aka, Ric the Schmuck). And everyone knows that brewers brew beer for big, bad birthday boys named Bruce!

Beware of Bruce!

And what a birthday bash! We had a BBQ at the Schmuck abode, where Ric grilled what my offspring termed the “Best. Burgers. Ever.” Then, we took our kids out to a bar! W00t!

There was much bowling and billiards and beer consumption (even if some of it was of the “beer, extra root” sort). And a good time was had by all.

Beware of monks with tails!
We even met up with Dale (aka, Ooshka)!

And, yes, as with everything around here, it involved monkeys…
Beware of monkey earrings!
(It’s a plastic earring monkey!)

We were on our way to enjoying this vacation more than any other. Ever. And it was only Day 2…
