It was a special day for Gwudriel Drowdicer at Royals Stadium — the Bree Cheese center fielder hit for the cycle, getting every type of hit possible.
The 27-year-old Drowdicer racked up 2 singles, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run to get his name in the history books. It was all for naught, however, as the Cheese didn’t win the ballgame, dropping the decision to the Rivendell Royals, 8-3.
“He hit everything we threw,” said Rivendell manager Marcos Easyheart. “There was just no getting him out today.”
For the game, he was 5-for-5 with 1 RBI and 1 run scored.
“I’m glad for Gwudriel,” Bree manager Tonak Gnomedragger said. “It’s a once-in-a-lifetime thing and a nice feather in his cap. Would’ve been better if we could have won the game for him, too.”
Speaking to the press after the game, Drowdicer said the key for his record-setting day was “just getting some good pitches to hit.”
Gwudriel Drowdicer singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Caradas Shushud in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and tripled in the 9th.
This season Drowdicer is batting .488 with 6 RBIs, 10 runs scored and 5 home runs.
