Land of Oz second baseman Hildibrand Bridger was the key at Dunharrow Field today, being named player of the game as she powered the Munchkins to victory in a critical Game 5 of the UFBL Championship. The Munchkins took the 9-6 win over the Dunharrow Devils to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series.
Tied up with the Devils in the top of the fifth inning, the Munchkins got a boost from first baseman Hong-bo Celiomir. With the bases loaded, Celiomir saw a 1-2 sinker from Lantai Lómebrildur and hit a 2-run double to break the stalemate and put Land of Oz on top, 6-4.
“The name of the game is scoring runs,” Bridger said. “We did a good job of that today.”
Game 6 is set to be played Saturday at Land of Oz Fields. Slated to start are Todo Gilmore for the Dunharrow Devils and Hosur Ringsmith for the the Land of Oz Munchkins.
