Few players his age are still in the league, but Guggek Hammerarm of the Old Forest Merry Fellows clearly loves the game and clearly he can still get the job done. Last week the 35-year-old designated hitter hit the ball with the consistency of someone ten years younger, which made Hammerarm a popular and well-deserved selection as Shire Conference Player of the Week.
He paced the Merry Fellows attack by putting up a .484 batting average, 15 hits in 31 at-bats, 8 RBIs and 5 home runs. Hammerarm also scored 8 runs.
So far this season Hammerarm has gotten 23 hits in 83 at-bats for a .277 batting average with 6 home runs. His stats include 10 RBIs and 11 runs scored. He has played in 19 games.
