Dol Guldur right fielder Tom Bird blasted himself into an elite group of baseball players. Today he joined the exclusive 300 home run club in the Dragons 12-4 loss to the Misty Mountain Hops.
“As soon as I hit it, I knew it was gone. I was happy to move on. Now I can go and have some fun. It is a weight lifted off my shoulders,” Bird told the press. He admitted just how much pressure he had been feeling. “Especially every time you’d get out of the hotel, everybody would say, ‘Hey, when are you going to hit it?'”
In his milestone game, Bird went 3 for 4 with 1 RBI and 3 runs scored.
Looking at his all-time stats, Bird has a lifetime .282 average with 1708 hits, 314 doubles, 52 triples, 300 home runs and 972 RBIs. To date he has scored 874 runs, walked 343 times and stolen 25 bases.
