Star of the Week Picked in MC

With some great hand-eye coordination and a sweet, compact swing, Dead Marshes Uruk-hai right fielder Farag Headmasher took the Mordor Conference by storm this past week to take the latest Player of the Week honors.

“The ball was looking like a beach ball all week,” a happy Headmasher said to BNN reporters. “When it’s that big, it doesn’t matter where they throw it — I can hit it anywhere.”

The 27-year-old right fielder hit .550 (11-for-20) last week with 5 home runs, 10 RBIs and 6 runs scored.

This season Headmasher is hitting .270 with 125 hits, 27 home runs, 84 RBIs, scored 62 runs and played in 120 games.

Thraryn *Samarkand, known affectionately as “the old man” by the younger players in the Uruk-hai clubhouse, showed his teammates how to do it last week — and in the process the 36-year-old vet beat out all competition for the Mordor Conference Player of the Week Award.

He put up a .583 batting average, 14 hits in 24 at-bats, no home runs and 5 RBIs. *Samarkand also scored 4 runs.

For the year *Samarkand is batting .394 with 12 home runs.

Chiba City Trades Goodbody for Dead Marshes’s La’Lin

Earlier today, officials from the Chiba City Neuromancers and the Dead Marshes Uruk-hai announced that they had finalized negotiations on a trade between the two teams. The deal will send 32-year-old minor league RHP Fay Goodbody and 22-year-old minor league RF Linda Buckland to Dead Marshes in exchange for 22-year-old minor league RF Luigino La’Lin.

In her 77-game career Goodbody has been credited with 20 wins, 34 losses and 0 saves. Her ERA stands at 7.20, and she has fired third strikes past 258 batters in 380 innings while giving up 261 walks.

Player of the Week: Dead Marshes’s Nerith

Veteran Ollla Nerith had a great week at the plate for the Uruk-hai to capture the majority of votes for Player of the Week in the Mordor Conference.

The 33-year-old Dead Marshes first baseman built a .440 average on the strength of 11 hits in 25 at-bats, 4 home runs and 9 RBIs.

Nerith currently has a .327 batting average with 107 hits, 20 homers, 69 RBIs, 51 runs scored and a .395 OBP.

Dead Marshes’s Belöl Gets MC Player of the Week

The Mordor Conference has named its Top Player of the Week. The honor went to Merin Belöl, second baseman of the Dead Marshes Uruk-hai.

In an extraordinary hitting display, he belted out hits at a .481 pace to win the award. Belöl went 13-for-27 for the week, totaled 1 home run, 6 RBIs and scored 4 times.

This season in 31 games Belöl is batting .362 with 3 home runs, 19 RBIs and has scored 18 times.

Thraryn *Samarkand Hits #300

Misty Mountain defeated Dead Marshes today 6-4 and took some of the joy out of Thraryn *Samarkand’s 300th career home run.

“I just wanted to get a good swing on the ball all day,” *Samarkand said. “And I did.”

Despite the loss, it was a good game for the 36-year-old Uruk-hai center fielder. He had 1 hit, scored 1 run and had 3 runs batted in.

The Hops manager said, “You could see he was aggressive up there. The worst thing we did was throw him a strike. It probably would have been better if we threw the ball outside of the strike zone every time he came to the plate because he seemed like he was in a hurry to get it over with.”

Lifetime *Samarkand is hitting .353 and has totaled 300 home runs.

Dead Marshes Uruk-hai Ship Bridger to Minas Tirith

Done deal! The Dead Marshes Uruk-hai have agreed to send 29-year-old C Nicholas Bridger and 23-year-old C Legolas Weissmuller to the Minas Tirith Titans for 29-year-old LF Gusil Zayas. The trade, rumored for days, was completed in the wee hours this morning.

His all-time numbers show Bridger is carrying a .259 career batting average with 56 home runs and 174 RBIs.

Zayas is hitting .270 lifetime with 448 hits, 78 doubles, 13 triples, 12 home runs and 143 RBIs to date. He has scored 201 runs, walked 148 times and has a .337 OBP.

Headmasher Week’s #1 Player

At the age of 26, Farag Headmasher might have some potential he hasn’t realized yet — if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The Dead Marshes right fielder put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days with a .526 batting average. For his efforts Headmasher collected the Mordor Conference Player of the Week Award.

He racked up 10 hits in 19 at-bats, 3 home runs and 10 RBIs last week in 6 games.

A look at his current stats shows Headmasher with a .287 average, 31 home runs, 79 RBIs and 90 runs scored. He has played in 140 games.

Mordor Conference Picks Top Performer

Dead Marshes Uruk-hai right fielder Farag Headmasher walked away with the Mordor Conference Player of the Week Award today after putting up some impressive numbers over the past seven days.

“The Uruk-hai fans are really behind me right now,” said the 26-year-old. “That helps. They give you the confidence to go out there and do better.”

Headmasher batted .462 (12-for-26) with 4 home runs and 10 RBIs this week on his way to the award.

Headmasher is currently batting .283 with 27 home runs and 68 RBIs.

Headmasher Raps 3 Homers Against Disaster

It was a good day for the Dead Marshes Uruk-hai and an exceptional one for Farag Headmasher. The 26-year-old right fielder sent three bombs out of the park to help the Uruk-hai beat the Dagorlad Disaster 11-6 at Uruk-hai Field.

“When you’re in the zone, the game really slows down,” Headmasher said when asked about his performance later. “I couldn’t even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day.”

For the day, he scored 3 times, drove in 7 runs and smacked 3 hits in 4 at-bats.

Farag Headmasher hit a two-run home run off Sourk Ratbelly in the 1st, hit a GRAND SLAM off Sourk Ratbelly in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Simon Kei in the 5th and flied out in the 7th.

This year Headmasher is batting .276 with 133 hits and 26 home runs. He has scored 75 times and has batted in 65 runs.
