Headmasher Week’s #1 Player

At the age of 26, Farag Headmasher might have some potential he hasn’t realized yet — if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The Dead Marshes right fielder put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days with a .526 batting average. For his efforts Headmasher collected the Mordor Conference Player of the Week Award.

He racked up 10 hits in 19 at-bats, 3 home runs and 10 RBIs last week in 6 games.

A look at his current stats shows Headmasher with a .287 average, 31 home runs, 79 RBIs and 90 runs scored. He has played in 140 games.

Dead Marshes Uruk-hai right fielder Farag Headmasher walked away with the Mordor Conference Player of the Week Award today after putting up some impressive numbers over the past seven days.

“The Uruk-hai fans are really behind me right now,” said the 26-year-old. “That helps. They give you the confidence to go out there and do better.”

Headmasher batted .462 (12-for-26) with 4 home runs and 10 RBIs this week on his way to the award.

Headmasher is currently batting .283 with 27 home runs and 68 RBIs.

Headmasher Raps 3 Homers Against Disaster

It was a good day for the Dead Marshes Uruk-hai and an exceptional one for Farag Headmasher. The 26-year-old right fielder sent three bombs out of the park to help the Uruk-hai beat the Dagorlad Disaster 11-6 at Uruk-hai Field.

“When you’re in the zone, the game really slows down,” Headmasher said when asked about his performance later. “I couldn’t even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day.”

For the day, he scored 3 times, drove in 7 runs and smacked 3 hits in 4 at-bats.

Farag Headmasher hit a two-run home run off Sourk Ratbelly in the 1st, hit a GRAND SLAM off Sourk Ratbelly in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Simon Kei in the 5th and flied out in the 7th.

This year Headmasher is batting .276 with 133 hits and 26 home runs. He has scored 75 times and has batted in 65 runs.

MC Announces Player of the Week

Ollla Nerith went on a week-long hitting spree against Mordor Conference pitchers and captured the Player of the Week honors.

The Dead Marshes first baseman battered the opposition for 10 hits, 4 home runs, 7 RBI and scored 4 runs. He hit .476 and posted a .577 on-base percentage.

Nerith’s current batting average stands at .336 and he has chalked up 26 home runs and 67 RBIs.

Trade: Nerith for Moss

The Lake Town Archers and Dead Marshes Uruk-hai have put the finishing touches on a deal that was weeks in the making. Lake Town will part with 32-year-old 1B Ollla Nerith, while the Uruk-hai have dealt 35-year-old RHP Bulbo Moss.

“This one took a while to figure out,” said Lake Town general manager Olia Legalas. “We must have gone back to the drawing board five or six times over the past few weeks. I’m glad we finally got the deal done. I think it is a good one for both clubs.”

So far on the season Nerith is hitting .320 with 19 home runs, 51 RBIs and 50 runs scored. He has 105 hits and played in 81 games.

This year Moss has a 3-11 record and a 5.65 ERA.

Big Bat Pays Off, Shewmaker Player of the Week

A veteran of baseball wars, Rinak Shewmaker knows how to stay with a stroke that’s working for him. The 35-year-old first baseman for the Uruk-hai batted .400 last week on his way to the Mordor Conference Player of the Week award.

His noteworthy week also featured 10 hits in 25 at-bats, 5 home runs, 12 RBIs and 8 runs scored.

Shewmaker is currently batting .270 with 20 home runs, 56 RBIs and 37 runs scored. He has 75 hits in 278 at-bats.

It’s Official: RP Even Signs with Uruk-hai

Talk of a deal between Dead Marshes and Aldo Even came together today as the two sides inked a deal worth $20,100,000 over 3 years.

Even is highly regarded around Tolkien Baseball for his talents and is expected to add that extra spark to the Uruk-hai roster.

In his career Even has put up a 2.72 ERA and fanned 318 hitters in 344.2 innings. His career record stands at 24-15 with 41 saves.

$9,200,000 Lands 1B Shewmaker for Uruk-hai

The Dead Marshes front office announced the signing of Rinak Shewmaker today as the team’s new first baseman. The 34-year-old came to terms with the Uruk-hai and will be hauling in $4,600,000 a year over 2 years.

In 833 career games Shewmaker is hitting at a .247 pace with 699 hits with 87 doubles, 6 triples and 194 homers while scoring 406 runs and racking up 492 RBIs. He logged 386 walks and owns a .343 on-base percentage.

*Samarkand Collects Hit Number 2000

Thraryn *Samarkand’s bat made good contact with the ball as he has many times in his career, but this time it added his name to an elite list of players with 2000 hits.

“This is a tremendous honor. You grow up dreaming of becoming a Tolkien Baseball player, but never did I ever think I would get to this point,” an emotional *Samarkand said after the game.

The Dead Marshes center fielder went to the plate 4 times and racked up 1 hit to gain the honor. But the Uruk-hai couldn’t pull off a win — they fell to the Misty Mountain Hops, 10-5.

“It certainly would have been nice to have won, but tomorrow is another day. I’m going to enjoy this moment with my friends and family,” *Samarkand said.

*Samarkand is hitting .357 during his 1499-game career. He has 2000 hits, 98 doubles, 13 triples, 268 home runs, 866 RBIs, 350 stolen bases and 1066 runs scored.

Bad News For Headmasher and Dead Marshes

First Farag Headmasher got hurt and suffered a strained achilles tendon. Now he is going to miss even more games. Treatment was going well until yesterday when the Uruk-hai right fielder overextended himself in a workout and suffered a setback. The Dead Marshes medical staff have now revised his recovery time to at least 4 days.

For the season Headmasher has produced 136 hits in 441 at-bats for a .308 average with 24 home runs and gotten on base at a .352 clip.
