Dunharrow Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit

The Dunharrow Devils have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Weathertop Witch Kings, winning 3-2 at Dunharrow Field today. Devils right-hander Eva Chiselarm was named player of the game after she threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Devils to 2-1 in the best-of-7 Two Towers Series.

Rinak Shewmaker aided the Dunharrow cause with a solo home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, the first baseman was 1-4 with a home run.

Witch Kings manager Gameodriel Anorfin did not take questions after the game, telling assembled reporters that he would hold a press conference “if and when we win the Return of the King Series.”

Game 4 is set to be played tomorrow at Dunharrow Field. Slated to start are Noilin Elväwen for Weathertop and Todo Gilmore for Dunharrow.

Witch Kings Rally Past Devils to Claim 2-0 Series Lead

A big day on the mound from left-hander Lantai Lómebrildur was not enough to keep the Weathertop Witch Kings from opening up a healthy early lead in the Two Towers Series. The Witch Kings topped Lómebrildur and the Dunharrow Devils 5-4 at Amon Sul Stadium today in Game 2, and now hold a 2-0 edge in the best-of-7 series. Lómebrildur threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball and was named player of the game in the loss.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Weathertop pinch hitter Elradriel Anóndir, facing Elendil Tinond, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Witch Kings the 5-4 win.

Anóndir said this kind of win gives the team “a buzz.”

The next game is scheduled for Monday, October 25th, 2038 at Dunharrow Field. Slated to start are Noilin Elväwen for Weathertop and Todo Gilmore for Dunharrow.

Two Towers Series Game 1 Victory for Eliolas and Weathertop

The Weathertop Witch Kings got a great start from 35-year-old right-hander Galugol Eliolas, who earned player of the game honors today as Weathertop won the contest 3-2 at Amon Sul Stadium. Eliolas threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball in the win, which allowed the Weathertop to grab a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Weathertop grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With no one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Baztrak the Vague delivered a 3-run home run, to make it 3-0 in favor of the Witch Kings.

“Winning the game is always the first objective,” Eliolas said.

Game 2 is set to be played tomorrow at Amon Sul Stadium. Slated to start are Lantai Lómebrildur for the Dunharrow Devils and Bluzhkrut Humancrawler for the the Weathertop Witch Kings.

Dunharrow Moves on to Two Towers Series

It’s not often a losing player is named MVP of a series, but that’s the situation Farag Humancrawler found himself in tonight, as the Dunharrow Devils beat his Dagorlad Disaster to advance to the Two Towers Series.

Dunharrow won the final game by a score of 6-4 at Dunharrow Field and took the series 4-2.

Despite his strong performance, Humancrawler was not taking many positives away from the series.

“I’m glad I played well, sure, but what good does it do us now?”

The Dunharrow Devils will play against the Weathertop Witch Kings in the next round. Weathertop won their series against the Grey Havens Stars 4 games to 2. The Two Towers Series schedule will be announced after the Fellowship Series finishes.

Dagorlad Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 3-2

The Dagorlad Disaster nearly wasted a strong game from starter Snibb *Ninwocket, but were saved by some timely hitting in a 9th inning walk-off win over the Dunharrow Devils today.

*Ninwocket was named player of the game in the 3-2 win at Dagorlad Memorial Stadium, after he threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball. The win allowed Dagorlad to cut the Dunharrow lead in the best-of-7 series to 2-3.

Curt Dryadslicer chipped in for Dagorlad with a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.

“This place was rockin’,” Dryadslicer said.

Game 6 is scheduled for Tuesday at Dunharrow Field. Slated to start are Grimthak Footkicker for the Dagorlad Disaster and Eva Chiselarm for the the Dunharrow Devils.

Humancrawler, Disaster Wallop Devils in Game 4 of R2

On the verge of being swept and facing a red-hot Dunharrow Devils team, the Dagorlad Disaster had a tough assignment. Farag Humancrawler delivered.

The Disaster catcher was unstoppable for the visitors, as he went 3 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice in guiding his club to its first victory of the series, 9-2. Humancrawler, 38, was named player of the game for his efforts. The win means Dagorlad now trails 3-1 in the best-of-7 series.

Humancrawler had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth inning, when he hit a grand slam. The Disaster went on to win.

“Winning the game is always the first objective,” Humancrawler said.

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at Dagorlad Memorial Stadium. Slated to start are Gruudash Facestomper for Dunharrow and Snibb *Ninwocket for Dagorlad.

Gilmore Handcuffs Disaster, Devils Seize 3-0 Advantage in R2

The Dunharrow Devils are one game away from a sweep of the Dagorlad Disaster today after a 4-2 road win at Dagorlad Memorial Stadium. Devils right-hander Todo Gilmore was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball. Dunharrow now holds a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 Fellowship Series.

Rinak Shewmaker helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 3-run home run to give Dunharrow a 3-0 lead.

“Things broke our way today and that’s great,” Devils manager Goreborn Golladen said. “It’s important, though, to stay focused and not pat yourself on the back too much. We aren’t done yet.”

Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow at Dagorlad Memorial Stadium. The scheduled starters for the game are Merodriel Gánduil for the Dunharrow Devils and Joop Nasor for the the Dagorlad Disaster.

Chiselarm Shuts Down Disaster, Devils Lead 2-0

With starter Eva Chiselarm leading the charge, the Dunharrow Devils defeated the Dagorlad Disaster, 3-1, in Game 2 of the Fellowship Series today. The right-hander threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball at Dunharrow Field to help Dunharrow take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Chiselarm allowed 1 earned run on 4 hits over 7.1 innings for the Devils. She walked 2 and struck out 6.

“I felt we were ready to go,” said Dunharrow manager Goreborn Golladen. “Our pregame was pretty good.”

The next game is scheduled for Friday at Dagorlad Memorial Stadium. Slated to start are Todo Gilmore for Dunharrow and Kate Hilldweller for Dagorlad.

Devils Rally Past Disaster to Claim 1-0 Series Lead

The Dunharrow Devils started the Fellowship Series in dramatic fashion today, stealing Game 1 from the Dagorlad Disaster in a walk-off. Dunharrow won 4-3 behind a good day from starter Gruudash Facestomper. The right-hander threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball in the win, which gave the Devils a 1-0 lead to start the best-of-7 series.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Dunharrow second baseman Hildibrand Dap, facing Bilin Earthmaster, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Devils the 4-3 win.

Dagorlad manager Gameodriel Eoweriand said he was “mildly disappointed” with the loss. “We had our opportunities, but we didn’t take advantage of them,” he said.

Game 2 is set to be played tomorrow at Dunharrow Field. The scheduled starters for the game are Grimthak Footkicker for Dagorlad and Eva Chiselarm for Dunharrow.

Devils Win Tight Mordor Conference Orc Division Race

You could barely hear the person standing next to you in the Dunharrow Devils clubhouse, as the team celebrated its Mordor Conference Orc Division championship tonight.

“We’re a proud bunch and this one feels good,” starting pitcher Gruudash Facestomper shouted to reporters over the loud music that rang through the clubhouse after the team’s division win became official. “This is a franchise that deserves a championship and we’re going to do everything we can to make that happen.”

The Devils have secured the franchise’s 7th title with a 89-72 record and will be looking for the 3rd Tolkien Baseball championship in franchise history.
