Grey Havens Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 3-1

The Grey Havens Stars have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Weathertop Witch Kings, winning 5-4 at Grey Havens Field today. Stars right-hander Soseen Eäräthien was named player of the game after he threw 7 innings allowing 4 runs. The win cuts the deficit facing the Stars to 3-1 in the best-of-7 Fellowship Series.

Sing Moonkiller aided the Grey Havens cause with a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the right fielder went 1-3 with a home run.

“They say the first rule of the playoffs is to win the home games,” Moonkiller said afterward. “It feels nice, but it is kind of what we were supposed to do.”

Game 5 is set to be played tomorrow at Grey Havens Field. The scheduled starters for the game are Galugol Eliolas for the Weathertop Witch Kings and Estella Pennypacker for the the Grey Havens Stars.

Humancrawler Handcuffs Stars, Witch Kings Seize 3-0 Advantage in R2

The Weathertop Witch Kings moved to within one game of the Two Towers Series today, downing the Grey Havens Stars on the road at Grey Havens Field by a score of 6-3. Witch Kings right-hander Bluzhkrut Humancrawler was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 7 innings allowing 3 runs. The win gives the Witch Kings a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 Fellowship Series.

Weathertop center fielder Malin Roadapple helped the Witch Kings go up, 3-0, in the top of the second inning. With the game tied, Roadapple hit a 3-run home run off Grey Havens pitcher Cemal Agrela.

“We’ll savor this win,” Roadapple told the Weathertop Daily, “then get ready for the next game.”

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Grey Havens Field. The scheduled starters for the game are Noilin Elväwen for Weathertop and Soseen Eäräthien for Grey Havens.

Elrolinde Jr. Handcuffs Stars, Witch Kings Seize 2-0 Advantage in R2

Sorria Elrolinde Jr. pitched a gem to help the Weathertop Witch Kings escape with a tight 1-0 victory over the Grey Havens Stars in a low-scoring Fellowship Series contest today. The right-handed Elrolinde Jr. threw 9 innings of shutout ball in the win, just enough for the Witch Kings on a day when their offense dried up. Weathertop now leads the best-of-7 series 2-0.

Grey Havens could barely put a dent in Elrolinde Jr.. The right-hander tossed 122 pitches over 9 innings for the Witch Kings, allowing only 4 hits.

“I was determined to go the distance,” said Elrolinde Jr..

The next game is scheduled for Friday, October 15th, 2038 at Grey Havens Field. The scheduled starters for the game are Bluzhkrut Humancrawler for Weathertop and Cemal Agrela for Grey Havens.

Fellowship Series Game 1 Victory for Eliolas and Weathertop

The Weathertop Witch Kings got a great start from 35-year-old right-hander Galugol Eliolas, who earned player of the game honors today as Weathertop won the contest 3-1 at Amon Sul Stadium. Eliolas threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball in the win, which allowed the Weathertop to grab a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Eliolas was in the zone all game. He frustrated Grey Havens hitters while giving the Witch Kings 7 innings of quality work. Eliolas threw 91 pitches, allowing 3 hits and getting 5 punchouts.

“I had everything working,” said Eliolas.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Amon Sul Stadium. Slated to start are Cemal Agrela for Grey Havens and Sorria Elrolinde Jr. for Weathertop.

Grey Havens Sweeps into the Fellowship Series

The Grey Havens Stars made it look easy and are heading to the Fellowship Series.

They have ousted the Ravenhill Darkwings in a sweep, the final win coming by a 9-0 score, clinching the 2-0 series win.

“Everything’s clicking for us right now,” said Raven Eloldor, who was named MVP for the series.

Eloldor hit .500 with a .500 on-base percentage. He added 2 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 2 runs.

The Grey Havens Stars will play against the Weathertop Witch Kings in the next round. Weathertop had a bye in the Hobbit Series. The Fellowship Series schedule will be announced after the Hobbit Series finishes.

Hobbit Series Game 1 Victory for Pennypacker and Grey Havens

The Grey Havens Stars snatched Game 1 of the Hobbit Series from the visiting Ravenhill Darkwings by the final score of 4-0 at Grey Havens Field today. Grey Havens right-hander went 7 innings and was named player of the game in the win. The Darkwings now face a precarious 0-1 deficit in the short, best-of-3 series.

Pennypacker delivered a quality start for Grey Havens. The 6′ 0″ right-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits over 7 innings of work.

“Not too many highlights on our side,” said losing manager Dwalin Rockanvil.

The next game is scheduled for Friday, October 8th, 2038 at The Ballpark at Helms Deep. Slated to start are Cemal Agrela for the Grey Havens Stars and Eillf Rymer for the the Ravenhill Darkwings.

Playoff Bound: Grey Havens Secures Wild Card

“Now we can just relax and concentrate on playing good baseball and gearing up for the playoffs,” said starting pitcher Estella Pennypacker.

Elizondo Collects Player of the Week Award

Baran Elizondo is respected by most Grey Havens Stars fans for his no-frills style of play. The 32-year-old center fielder went about his business with vigor last week to grab the Mordor Conference Player of the Week honors.

He compiled a .458 average (11-for-24) with 1 home run, 6 RBIs and 4 runs scored.

So far this year Elizondo is hitting .305 with 18 home runs.

Knotwise on Fire, Named Player of the Week

This week’s best performer in the Mordor Conference was third baseman Irene Knotwise of the Grey Havens Stars.

She slashed out a .522 average and was voted the Player of the Week. Over the last week Knotwise stroked 12 hits in 23 at-bats and 2 home runs, drove in 8 runs and scored 6 times.

So far this season Knotwise is batting .305 with 8 home runs.

Pennypacker Fires Shutout in Stars Victory

Estella Pennypacker dominated the Minas Morgul Slayers with a brilliant 1-hit shutout in a Grey Havens Stars 3-0 triumph at Sylvan Cove. The Grey Havens hurler fanned 7 and walked 3 in the game and was singled out for praise afterward by the opposing manager.

“She really kept us in check today,” Slayers skipper Pim Chiseltooth said in his postgame comments. “Everything looked to be moving. Seemed like the pitch was right down the middle and it went over down and away. We took some pathetic swings.”

In 26 starts this year Pennypacker has fashioned a 11-7 record and a 1.57 ERA.
