Moonkiller Takes This Week’s Trophy

Kognar Moonkiller must have thought he died and went to heaven this week. First he went on a remarkable batting rampage, hammering the ball at a .435 clip, then the Lake Town center fielder finds out he has been voted the league’s top performer and gets the SC Player of the Week Award.

For the week Moonkiller batted .435 (10-for-23) with 3 home runs and 7 RBIs.

This season Moonkiller is hitting .289 with 85 hits, 14 home runs, 47 RBIs, scored 42 runs and played in 78 games.

Moss Grabs SC Top Pitcher Trophy

It was a very good month for Bulbo Moss in June. The 36-year-old veteran starter for the Lake Town Archers outpitched everybody — young and old — to claim the Shire Conference Pitcher of the Month award earlier today.

Moss ran up a 5-0 record in his 6 starts during the month. In 52.2 innings he fanned 42 and recorded a 1.37 ERA.

So far this season Moss has a 6-6 record with a 3.21 ERA.

the Gru Shuts Out Witch Kings

Today Archers pitcher Paul the Gru sparkled in a 1-hit shutout against the Weathertop Witch Kings at Amon Sul Stadium. He fanned 8 and walked 3 to help Lake Town post the 3-0 win.

This season to date the Gru has a record of 3 wins and 4 losses with a 6.00 ERA, has appeared in 11 games and struck out 48 in 66 innings.

Star CF Moonkiller Settles on Lake Town

Word of a huge deal between Kognar Moonkiller and Lake Town broke on BNN only minutes before it was officially announced.

The center fielder will join the Archers for an estimated $26,800,000 per year over 4 years. Moonkiller has shown he is capable of putting together big money campaigns, which is exactly what Archers ownership was looking for.

Moonkiller has compiled a career batting average of .280 with 930 hits, 185 homers and 473 RBIs.

Shire Conference Selects Best Performer

It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the Shire Conference, but last week Valio Makino of the Lake Town Archers reminded everyone just why he’s here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Makino rocked opposing pitching for a .414 average (12-for-29), 4 home runs and 8 RBIs to come away with the award.

For the season, Makino is hitting at a .258 clip with 14 home runs, 35 RBIs and has scored 42 runs. He has 109 hits, 27 walks and a .308 on-base percentage.

Archers Moss Strikes out 15 Sylvan

Bulbo Moss really had Mirkwood batters swinging and missing today at Lake Town Park. Moss sat down 15 hitters on strikes and whipped the Sylvan 3-2. He allowed 8 hits and gave up no walks in a standout mound performance.

Checking out his stats for the season, Moss has notched 8 wins and 14 losses in 26 starts, 4.77 ERA and struck out 169 batters in 196.1 innings.

Lake Town Over Dunharrow 3-2, 200th Win for Moss

Lake Town’s Bulbo Moss took the hill at Lake Town Park today in search of his 200th career win. The 35-year-old ace found it against the Dunharrow Devils.

After the historic victory, his manager told reporters, “I saw a tremendous sigh of relief when this thing was over. He was just looking to hug everyone in sight.”

He worked 7.1 innings with 7 strikeouts and 1 walk in the 3-2 victory, checking Dunharrow on 5 hits.

“It a big milestone in my career,” admitted Moss. “When you get close to it, you worry about it a lot. It’s done now… and I can relax and enjoy it.”

In his career Moss has compiled an ERA of 2.72 with 200 victories and 112 defeats and has held opponents to a .225 batting average.

Koboldbasher, Fingereater Swap Clubs

The Archers and Spheres pulled the trigger on a deal that will see 37-year-old 3B Sing Koboldbasher head to Dyson in exchange for 22-year-old minor league RHP Zibguk Fingereater. A source close to Lake Town officials said “The teams spent long hours coming to the agreement and in the end, both agreed the deal should help both clubs.”

A look at his current stats shows Koboldbasher with a .183 average, 10 home runs, 26 RBIs and 22 runs scored. He has played in 65 games.

Lake Town-WeMadeIt Announce Deal

Signed … sealed … and delivered.

Lake Town has worked out terms of a deal to send 35-year-old RHP Thubis Gadrienduil to WeMadeIt for 23-year-old minor league RHP Meraulbo Stansbury, 19-year-old minor league RHP Snabgunk Throatcrawler and 19-year-old minor league C Indrarajan Orby. Both teams expect to introduce their new players at press conferences later in the week.

This season Gadrienduil has accumulated 1 save, registered a 3.45 ERA and struck out 29 in 28.2 innings. He also has a 1-2 record in 30 relief appearances.

Trade: Nerith for Moss

The Lake Town Archers and Dead Marshes Uruk-hai have put the finishing touches on a deal that was weeks in the making. Lake Town will part with 32-year-old 1B Ollla Nerith, while the Uruk-hai have dealt 35-year-old RHP Bulbo Moss.

“This one took a while to figure out,” said Lake Town general manager Olia Legalas. “We must have gone back to the drawing board five or six times over the past few weeks. I’m glad we finally got the deal done. I think it is a good one for both clubs.”

So far on the season Nerith is hitting .320 with 19 home runs, 51 RBIs and 50 runs scored. He has 105 hits and played in 81 games.

This year Moss has a 3-11 record and a 5.65 ERA.
