Bywater Takes Two Towers Series in Deciding Game

The Bywater Bounders are heading to the Return of the King Series, having narrowly defeated the Lake Town Archers.

Bywater edged Lake Town in the series 4-3, with a win at The Water Park in the clinching game by a 6-5 margin.

Ferdinand *Puttifoot turned in a strong offensive performance for the Bounders and got series MVP for his efforts.

“I’ll never turn down another trophy for my mantle, another accomplishment to remember once my career is over,” he said. “What I would really remember, though, is a Return of the King Series win.”

It remains to be seen how the playoffs will conclude, but if *Puttifoot continues to swing a hot bat, his team will no doubt have a chance.

For the series, he hit .480 with a .533 on-base percentage. He had 4 home runs, 7 RBI and scored 7 runs.

Fans of the Ravenhill Darkwings groaned when Ragnar *Stonecutter III stepped up to the plate in the Two Towers Series.

And for good reason too, as the Isengard Raiders player was instrumental in guiding his team to a 4-1 series win over the Darkwings.

The series was clinched tonight at The Ballpark at Helms Deep, with Isengard coming out on top 5-2 in the deciding game.

*Stonecutter III’s strong series included a .500 batting average, with a .522 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 4 runs.

The Isengard Raiders don’t know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Lake Town Archers – Bywater Bounders series. Lake Town leads the series 3 games to 2. The Return of the King Series schedule will be announced after the Two Towers Series finishes.

Ravenhill Takes Fellowship Series in Deciding Game

The sweet swing of Forerunner *Baggins has led his team through the Fellowship Series.

The Ravenhill Darkwings star earned series MVP honors as his club downed the Dunharrow Devils to advance to the Two Towers Series.

The Darkwings won the final game at The Ballpark at Helms Deep by a score of 7-3 and the series 4-3.

“I’m seeing the ball well and happy to contribute to a win,” said *Baggins. “I hope it continues for the rest of the playoffs.”

For the series, *Baggins hit .357 with a .379 on-base percentage. He had 4 home runs, drove in 7 RBI and scored 4 runs.

Isengard Raiders won a nail-biting series against the Lothlorien Lumberjacks 4-3, wrapping up the Fellowship Series finale 4-1 at Orthanc Stadium.

Raiders third baseman Arwowyn Galindil was named the series MVP.

He batted .345, drove in 3 runs and scored 1 to lead Isengard into the next round of play.

“Arwowyn was real solid for us, real solid,” said Raiders manager Golmazh Headgobber. “I normally say I’d like to have nine of him out there, but thankfully we got by with just one this time.”

Fellowship Series Goes the Distance, Bywater Prevails

Tolkien Baseball fans were certainly not disappointed with this Shire Conference Fellowship Series.

The two teams were evenly matched and the series went to the final game, with the Bywater Bounders prevailing over the Bree Cheese to advance to the Two Towers Series.

Bywater won the final game by a score of 18-5 at The Water Park and that sealed the series 4-3.

“Things were tense in our clubhouse and dugout before and during this game, but we can let loose a bit now — the hard work is over, for now,” said center fielder Isseen Elrithranduil, who earned MVP honors.

For the series, Elrithranduil hit .333 with a .357 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, 8 RBI and scored 6 runs.

The Bywater Bounders will play against the Lake Town Archers in the next round. Lake Town won their series against the Mirkwood Sylvan 4 games to 1. The Two Towers Series schedule will be announced after the Fellowship Series finishes.

Lake Town Takes Fellowship Series

The Lake Town Archers “bent but didn’t break” against the Mirkwood Sylvan in the Fellowship Series.

That’s according to Luumsh Derrokicker of Lake Town, who was named series MVP.

“Our guys faced adversity and overcame it. This series wasn’t easy, but we stuck to our game and made it work,” he said.

Lake Town won the final game by a 2-0 count and the series 4-1.

Derrokicker’s MVP performance included hitting .571 with a .609 on-base percentage. He also had 1 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 5 runs.

In an exciting Hobbit Series that had its fair share of drama and intrigue, perhaps it is Tolkien Baseball fans who have come out the winner.

But on the field, the winners were the Lake Town Archers, who edged the Rivendell Royals 2-1 to advance to the Fellowship Series.

Lake Town won the final game by a 3-2 count to wrap up the series. Vigan Goldtearer earned series MVP honors, by hitting .500 with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 1 RBI and scored 0 runs.

The Lake Town Archers will play against the Mirkwood Sylvan in the next round. Mirkwood had a bye in the Hobbit Series. The Fellowship Series schedule will be announced after the Hobbit Series finishes.

Lumberjacks Cruise to Fellowship Series with Sweep

The Lothlorien Lumberjacks have swept the Minas Morgul Slayers and are on to the Fellowship Series. Lothlorien won 7-5 today at Sylvan Cove to clinch the Hobbit Series.

“We’re happy to have put the dagger in when we had the chance,” said Lothlorien catcher Devi Torlak, who was named MVP for the series. “It could have been a tough series to finish if we let them start winning.”

Torlak won the award with a .500 batting average and a .500 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 2 runs.

Eladriewen Chosen September’s Best MC Hurler

Despite the number of years he’s been in the league, Eimer Eladriewen still gets excited when he puts together a quality stretch like he had in September. The 33-year-old starter for Isengard was named Mordor Conference Pitcher of the Month earlier today.

He collected 5 wins and no losses with 49 strikeouts in his 6 starts, putting up a fine 1.36 ERA in 46.1 innings of work.

So far this year Eladriewen has 15 wins and 10 losses and a 2.63 ERA.

Bree’s Rockcrusher SC Top Pitcher

Veteran Meriamli Rockcrusher put together quite a successful stretch in September for the Bree Cheese, earning himself the Shire Conference Pitcher of the Month award.

Rockcrusher racked up a 5-0 record in 6 starts, posting a 1.35 ERA over 40 innings and striking out 39.

On his stats sheet for the year Rockcrusher shows a 16-9 record, 33 starts, 240 innings, 249 strikeouts and a 2.59 ERA.
