Titans Kinar Gorimli Down and Out for Year

The Minas Tirith Titans were dealt a severe blow when Kinar Gorimli was hurt throwing a pitch recently in a game against the Minas Ithil Wyrms. After the game, the team trainer reported Gorimli might have to spend a lengthy time on the disabled list. Today doctors confirmed it, ruling the 33-year-old reliever out for the rest of the season with a torn flexor tendon in his elbow. They indicated it would take Gorimli at least 10 months to heal.

Superstar Goblinmaster Signs with Minas Tirith

Team insiders were tight-lipped prior to today’s deal that brought 28-year-old starting pitcher Eruushnak Goblinmaster to Minas Tirith.

Goblinmaster is considered one of the league’s A-list players and certainly will enhance any chances the Titans have to win a playoff spot this year.

In his career Goblinmaster has fashioned a 98-59 mark, 2.80 ERA and thrown 1502.1 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .198 lifetime against him and he has logged 2029 career strikeouts.

15-K Masterpiece for Ironfist

Minas Tirith defeated the Dol Guldur Dragons today at Elrod Stadium at Finrod Field. The Titans got a strong outing from winning pitcher Lomli Ironfist. He blazed 15 third strikes past Dol Guldur batters. Ironfist won the game 4-1, allowing 1 hit and giving up 1 walk in the victory.

This year Ironfist has a 11-5 record with a 2.60 ERA in 24 starts.

Dunharrow, Minas Tirith Trade Made

Dunharrow and Minas Tirith have agreed in principle to a trade. The Devils will send 33-year-old RF Granil Ironbane and 24-year-old minor league RHP Satu Toothdecay to the Titans for 34-year-old minor league 1B Rinak Shewmaker. The deal is expected to be finalized shortly and the clubs will be introducing their new players to the press when the paperwork is complete.

Minas Tirith will retain a portion of Shewmaker’s remaining contract.

Looking at his present stats, Ironbane has compiled a .244 batting average in 52 games with a .276 on-base percentage, while hitting 7 home runs and driving in 18 runs.

Hitting .188 to date, Shewmaker has 16 home runs and 49 RBIs. He has played in 72 games.

Red-Hot Simbelmyne SC Player of the Week

Katie Simbelmyne stepped up to the plate in a big way last week and today she took home the Shire Conference Player of the Week honors.

The Minas Tirith left fielder ripped opposing pitchers for 12 hits in 25 at-bats and 3 home runs. She put together a sizzling .480 batting average as she knocked in 6 runs and scored 6 times.

This season Simbelmyne is swinging the bat at a .342 rate with 52 hits in 152 at-bats. To date she has hit 5 home runs, scored 32 runs and driven in 10.

Royals-Titans Deal: Holyday for Goodrich

In a move that has left many fans wondering, the Rivendell Royals have traded 31-year-old RHP Annun Elrailbo and 25-year-old RHP Tariyel Holyday to the Minas Tirith Titans. In return, the Royals receive 34-year-old LHP Crystal Goodrich.

Holyday’s career stats include a 20-14 record, 314.2 innings, 219 strikeouts, and a 4.58 ERA.

Lifetime Goodrich has a 119-71 won-lost record with a 3.35 ERA.

Rivendell, Minas Tirith Agree to Deal

Both sides appear content with the trade finalized today that will send 29-year-old C Radiden Tunneldelver and 29-year-old minor league 1B Telseen Celadriendil to the Minas Tirith Titans, while the Rivendell Royals will receive 36-year-old RF Gamahir Eléwen.

“This is a move that filled a few gaps in our roster,” said Lord Elladan, Royals general manager.

For his part, the Titans GM said the trade was made “in the best interest of our organization’s future.” BNN analysts reported that on paper the trade seemed to be a plus for both ball clubs.

Lifetime Tunneldelver is hitting .263 with 393 hits, 51 home runs, 184 runs scored and 181 RBIs.

Eléwen currently has a career .277 batting average with 1064 hits, good for 65 home runs, 484 RBIs and 474 runs.

Red-Hot Ironfist Cools Off Rivendell

Lomli Ironfist hurled a fine game for the Minas Tirith Titans at Elrod Stadium at Finrod Field today, holding the Rivendell Royals to 1 hit in a shutout win.

“When he started out, his command wasn’t that good, but he’s a tough guy,” Minas Tirith manager Hob Hilldweller said. “The more pitches he throws, the better his command is.”

The right-hander had 15 strikeouts and 2 walks in the 2-0 victory.

“An outstanding job,” Rivendell manager Marcos Easyheart said. “We couldn’t get anything going. Every time we got a hit, he got out of the jam. He pitched a terrific game.”

Thus far this season, Ironfist has tossed 208.2 innings in 32 starts, fanned 294 batters, walked 47 and put up a 3.11 ERA with 11 wins and 10 losses.

Week’s #1 Player: Minas Tirith’s Shewmaker

Veteran Rinak Shewmaker had a great week at the plate for the Titans to capture the majority of votes for Player of the Week in the Shire Conference.

The 33-year-old Minas Tirith first baseman built a .435 average on the strength of 10 hits in 23 at-bats, 3 home runs and 8 RBIs.

This year Shewmaker is batting .258 with 125 hits, 44 home runs, 107 RBIs, 70 walks, .360 OBP and has scored 87 runs.

Even Breezes to Shutout Victory

In a seemingly effortless performance, Richard Even of the Minas Tirith Titans shot down the Rivendell Royals 6-0 on a 1-hit shutout.

“Richard was just locating so well and using his pitches,” Minas Tirith manager Hob Hilldweller said later. “He wasn’t leaving anything over the plate.”

Even recorded 11 strikeouts and 2 walks in a strong outing.

“When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game,” Rivendell manager Todd Grigol said in his postgame comments to BNN. “We couldn’t get a key hit off him.”

In season stats Even shows a 14-8 record in 27 games, 195.2 innings, 167 strikeouts and a 3.27 ERA.
