Dagorlad Wins Game 4 in Extras

The Dagorlad Disaster moved to within one game of the Two Towers Series today, downing the Misty Mountain Hops 2-1 in a low-scoring, extra-inning affair at Dagorlad Memorial Stadium. Leading the way for the Disaster was right-hander Sourk Ratbelly, who was named player of the game after he threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball. The win gives the Disaster a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Fellowship Series.

Late in the game, first baseman Borthak the Wicked had a big at-bat for Dagorlad. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring single off Caoimhín Júlia. The play gave the Disaster a 2-1 lead.

“This place was rocking at the end,” the Wicked said.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Dagorlad Memorial Stadium. Slated to start are Kate Hilldweller for the Misty Mountain Hops and Snibb *Ninwocket for the the Dagorlad Disaster.

Home Loss Shrinks Disaster’ Series Lead to 2-1

The Misty Mountain Hops have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Dagorlad Disaster, winning 5-4 at Dagorlad Memorial Stadium today. Hops right fielder Rona Walekino was named player of the game after she was 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. She drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win cuts the deficit facing the Hops to 2-1 in the best-of-7 Fellowship Series.

The game was far from mistake-free. In the top of the fifth, the Disaster committed a costly error on a base hit by Ignatie Nyambek. Misty Mountain scored 2 on the play to take the lead, 4-3.

“You work hard, day in and day out, hoping to give the fans something to cheer about. Today was a good day,” Walekino told the Misty Mountain Today.

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at Dagorlad Memorial Stadium. The scheduled starters for the game are Tanta Trample for Misty Mountain and Sourk Ratbelly for Dagorlad.

the Wicked, Disaster Sink Hops Again in Game 2

Riding the 3-hit performance of first baseman Borthak the Wicked, the Dagorlad Disaster got a road win against the Misty Mountain Hops, 4-3, in Game 2 of the Fellowship Series today. the Wicked went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times for the Disaster, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 0.

A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and two out in the top of the seventh inning. That’s when catcher Haleodur Slezak struck out. The Disaster went on to win.

“We have been clicking right from the start of this series, so our mission statement at the moment is just don’t tinker with anything,” Dagorlad manager Gameodriel Eoweriand told reporters.

The next game is set to be played Thursday, October 13th, 2039 at Dagorlad Memorial Stadium. Slated to start are Dudo Brownlock for the Misty Mountain Hops and Joop Nasor for the the Dagorlad Disaster.

Dagorlad Takes Series Lead in Low-Scoring Affair

The Fellowship Series got off to a quiet start today, with the traveling Dagorlad Disaster taking a low-scoring 2-1 win over the host Misty Mountain Hops. Dagorlad left-hander Snibb *Ninwocket was marvelous at Gap of Rohan Park at Caradhras and was named player of the game. The Disaster now hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Higak the Rude, who is a two-time Legolas Fielder Award winner, helped out the Dagorlad cause in the top of the fourth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the center fielder was 2-4 with 2 singles.

“Things broke our way today and that’s great,” Disaster manager Gameodriel Eoweriand said. “It’s important, though, to stay focused and not pat yourself on the back too much. We aren’t done yet.”

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Gap of Rohan Park at Caradhras. Slated to start are Rebo Hill for the Dagorlad Disaster and Fastolph Hornblower for the the Misty Mountain Hops.

Misty Mountain Narrowly Wins Mordor Conference Orc Division

The Misty Mountain Hops have won the Mordor Conference Orc Division.

“We made it. Everything we talked about doing in spring training has come true so far,” said John Bermejo. “We’re not done though, there’s still a larger goal in mind.”

Misty Mountain has a record of 83-78 record and will by vying for their 3rd Return of the King Series. It was the club’s 12th Mordor Conference Orc Division title.

“You never get sick of celebrating something like this,” said reliever Caoimhín Júlia.

Foriand Launches Number 300

It’s official. Issth Foriand of the Misty Mountain Hops hit his 300th home run tonight.

The Misty Mountain Hops took on the Dunharrow Devils and downed them 4-3, but the big story of the night was the milestone home run for Foriand. He rounded the bases with a smile and politely stepped on home plate and walked back to the dugout.

“300 is a big number, and I am thankful for the ability to get to this milestone. But it’s all about the team today, my accomplishments are just one piece to the Hops puzzle.”

The Hops first baseman went 1-for-4 with 1 home run and 1 RBI as the Misty Mountain Hops topped the Dunharrow Devils.

In 1609 career games, Foriand has put up a .315 average, collected 361 doubles, 22 triples, and 300 home runs, driven in 1055 runs, and scored 998 times.

September’s Top Starter Named in MC

There was nobody finer on the mound in September and Fastolph Hornblower cruised to the Mordor Conference Pitcher of the Month award today.

He was 5-1 with a 1.86 ERA while piling up 19 strikeouts in 38.2 innings and holding opposing hitters to a .241 batting average.

This year Hornblower has registered 11 wins and 10 losses in 30 starts with a 3.24 ERA while registering 132 strikeouts and 60 walks in 197 innings.

Hilldweller Tosses Shutout

Kate Hilldweller of the Misty Mountain Hops overwhelmed the Lothlorien Lumberjacks and walked off the mound with a complete-game shutout. She blanked them 2-0 on 1 hit with a total of 8 strikeouts and 2 walks.

“Kate was on quite a roll,” Misty Mountain manager John Bermejo said. “She gets great late movement and she doesn’t give in to the hitters.”

For the season Hilldweller has logged 10 wins and 11 losses and struck out 138 batters in 187.1 innings while compiling a 3.75 ERA.

Barrage of Hits Gets Foriand MC Award

A battle-tested Issth Foriand declared war on opposing pitchers last week, attacking the ball like the well-schooled veteran he is. Today the 34-year-old Misty Mountain first baseman collected the Mordor Conference Player of the Week Award.

He wrapped up the week with a .583 average, 7 hits in 12 at-bats, 3 home runs, 9 RBIs and 6 runs scored.

So far this season Foriand has put up a .321 batting average with 130 hits, 28 home runs and 77 RBIs.

Un-four-gettable: Foriand Hits for Cycle

Issth Foriand was at the front of a Hops hit parade today at Gap of Rohan Park at Caradhras. The first baseman finished 4-for-5 and hit for the cycle as Misty Mountain triumphed 13-6 over the Dead Marshes Uruk-hai.

“Issth was putting on a real clinic out there,” Misty Mountain manager John Bermejo said following the game.

Foriand finished the game with 4 RBI and had 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run.

Issth Foriand singled in the 1st, hit an RBI triple in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Ernesto Journey in the 5th and doubled in the 8th.

This year Foriand is hitting .321 with 28 home runs and 77 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .402 clip and scored 75 runs.
